Established in 2001, Canary Promotion was founded and is run by people who are truly invested in the cultural, creative and nonprofit communities. The Canary team brings to each project over 14 years of experience working in various areas of the communications, journalism and arts fields.

Canary was co-founded by wife and husband team Megan Wendell (Founder & President) and Mason Wendell (now Creative Director/VP of Creative at web development shop Zivtech), who wanted to create an artist-focused business that would draw from their own artistic backgrounds as musicians who graduated from Berklee College of Music, launched several successful tours, nationally released and promoted several albums, and founded an independent record label.
Today, our clients include major arts festivals, education and advocacy organizations, foundations, universities, museums and art institutions, individual artists, theater and dance companies, and various other nonprofit organizations and businesses. We have worked on several projects funded by such granting organizations as The National Endowment for the Arts, The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, The William Penn Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, among others.
