Internship Alert: Canary Promotion is hiring PR/Marketing interns this fall!
Attention, all you art-smart, communication-savvy internship-seekers:
Canary internships provide an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience with a rapidly growing, boutique communications firm based in the Philadelphia area. Interns will assist in the development and execution of campaigns with a strong focus on arts and cultural organizations, from major theater and dance companies to museums and galleries, arts festivals and more.
Qualifications: We are looking for detail-oriented, internet-savvy locals who have a strong interest in the arts, enjoy writing and possess strong communication skills. Interested candidates may have experience in media relations; working on student newspapers, literary magazines, blogs or other publications; or be active participants in the arts or familiar with Philadelphia and its arts and cultural community.
Tasks may include: writing press releases, press kits and other materials; participating in staff and client meetings; performing internet research; contacting media outlets; tracking press coverage and updating client reports; maintaining press database; web copywriting; social media outreach; and various other PR and marketing project tasks.
How to apply: We are looking for interns for the remainder of the fall semester and for the spring 2013 semester.
A minimum 8-week commitment is required, at a minimum of 10 hours per week. Work must be done on-site at our office in Glenside (1 block from SEPTA regional rail station). Available for college credit. Small stipend for travel expenses available.
